Every Acme ProClean V12 and CycloneMax Pro is backed by one of the most comprehensive warranties in the industry. This article explains exactly what is covered, for how long, and what conditions apply.
Standard Warranty Periods
| Component | Warranty Period |
|---|---|
| Machine (full unit) | 2 years from date of purchase |
| Battery | 2 years from date of purchase |
| Motor | 5 years from date of purchase |
Warranty periods begin on the original retail purchase date. For gift purchases, the warranty begins on the purchase date — not the date of gifting or first use.
What Is Covered
The Acme warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship arising from normal domestic use, including:
- Motor faults and suction system failures
- Battery failing to hold charge (subject to capacity threshold — see below)
- Structural failures in the wand, handle, or main unit housing under normal use
- Electrical faults not caused by physical damage, liquid ingress, or misuse
- LED indicators or buttons failing to function correctly
- Cyclone assembly degradation not caused by improper use
Battery Capacity Threshold
Lithium-ion batteries naturally lose some capacity over time. The warranty covers battery failure where measurable runtime drops below 70% of the original rated capacity (e.g., below 42 minutes in Eco mode on a full charge for the ProClean V12) within the 2-year warranty period under normal use and charging practices.
What Is Not Covered
- Damage caused by accidents, drops, or impacts
- Damage from liquid ingress (vacuuming liquids, flooding, rain)
- Damage resulting from use outside the instructions in the user guide
- Commercial, industrial, or rental use — the warranty applies to domestic household use only
- Normal wear consumables: brush roll bristles, HEPA filter, dustbin seals, floor head wheels
- Damage caused by using non-genuine Acme accessories or third-party attachments
- Running the vacuum without the HEPA filter installed
- Cosmetic damage (scratches, scuffs, discolouration) that does not affect function
- Damage caused by failure to follow maintenance guidance (e.g., running on a blocked filter until motor failure)
Extending Your Warranty
Acme offers optional Acme Care+ plans that extend your coverage beyond the standard warranty:
- Care+ Essential: Extends machine and battery coverage by 1 year (total 3 years) — $49
- Care+ Premium: Extends all coverage by 3 years (total 5 years), adds accidental damage cover and priority repair SLA — $99
Care+ must be purchased within 90 days of your original purchase date. See our Acme Care+ Plans article for full details.
Transferability
The Acme warranty is transferable to a new owner if the product is sold or gifted. To transfer, the new owner should contact Acme Support with the product serial number and proof of ownership transfer (e.g., receipt of private sale). The original warranty end date is not extended by transfer.
